Celebrate the changing of the leaves with Autumn Fairies!

Fall is such a special time for kiddos. The start of school and trick-or-treat come in quick succession. And of course there is one of nature’s most eye catching spectacles-
The changing colors of the leaves.🍁🍁🍁
To celebrate this crispy, fresh time of year I created an illustration to accompany the super cute poem by Sarah Meade, Autumn Fairies (you can read about how I created those illustrations here). When I was done I thought, “This would be such a fun set of coloring pages to share with kids!”

So here they are! 3 coloring pages featuring super cute autumn fairies that I have put together just for you.

Choosing your Autumn Fairies Color Palette

There is a super fun way that kiddos can build their artistic skills with these Autumn Fairy coloring pages. Pick an autumn palette! We don’t have to be professional artists to think like professionals! Have your kiddo go through their marker or crayon box and pull out the following colors:
  • Sky blue (for the autumn sky)

  • Grey (for rolling clouds)

  • Orange

  • Yellow

  • Yellow Orange

  • Red

  • Burgundy

  • Brown

  • Purple

  • A handful of greens ( but not too many! And the more neutral the better)

You can check out which colors I used in my Autumn Fairies illustration to see this palette in action!

How to Use Your Autumn Fairies Coloring Pages

  • Decorate the front door! Pick one fairy to color and hang it on your front door. I have my website on the bottom of each page in case you want more down the road but forgot where they came from. I know I’m awesome but if you decide not to have my name plastered all over your front door, just cut the bottom off. I will not be offended!

  • Make garlands! Print out 5 copies of the coloring page and color in the children. Then cut them out, tape them onto a long piece of string, and festoon your home with a beautiful garland!

  • Collage your Autumn Fairies into an autumn scene! After you’ve colored in your coloring page, go outside and grab some colorful leaves off the ground. Paste them onto your drawing to make a lovely, natural collage!

  • Create cardboard cut outs. After coloring your page, glue it to an old cereal or cracker box. Then cut out the people and add a stand on the back. They can sit on your mantel, nestled in a pile of autumn leaves or even feature in a diorama!

  • Make “Happy Autumn” cards! Print out your free coloring pages on a 25% setting. Then after coloring them, cut them out, and put them on folded paper as a gift to friends and family. Help get everyone into the autumn spirit!

  • Make Pop-Up Cards! Once you have gone to town with your markers and crayons, cut out the fairies on your coloring sheet and apply them to a pop up box in a pop-up card! Another fun way to honor this important holiday with school mates, family and friends!
