Make your own Ice Cream Color Palette!
Doesn’t ice cream come in the most beautiful colors? Whether it’s orange sherbert, mint chocolate chip or strawberry, all that mixing of fruits and bright colors with white cream creates the sweetest color palette.
Here are some colors that will look SCRUMPTIOUS on your printable ice cream coloring pages:
- Light mint green
- Beige or light yellow for vanilla
- Chocolate and caramel browns
- Light pinks, purples and oranges for strawberry ice cream, sherbets and sprinkles!
- Bright cherry red for a pop of color on top.

Like pattern recognition, learning to recognize and draw basic shapes is a huge part of early art and math education. It just so happens that coloring and drawing ice cream is a fabulous way to practice those basic shapes.
Think about it…
Ice cream scoops are CIRCLES.
Cones can be RECTANGLES or TRIANGLES.
And of course sprinkles can be any number of shapes from stars to hearts and more!
Of course the shapes I mentioned above are all 2 dimensional shapes. Break out the REAL ice cream cones to help kids learn about 3 dimensional shapes.
Ice cream scoops and cherries on top are SPHERES.
Cones can be CYLINDERS or CONES (hence the name).
Oreo bits and marshmallow aren’t the only goodies crammed in that ice cream. There’s tons of LEARNING in there too!
